Compiled by Tsegalem Woldemariam, the book features intimate testimonies of combatants, medics, and activists who faced front-line combat and oppressive cultural barriers. Their involvement reshaped gender roles in Eritrea, leading to post-independence policies promoting women’s education, leadership roles, and economic independence.
